A wonderful day had by all. Our community wants to thank all the volunteers, individuals, businesses and organizations that helped make this day such a success. The nice weather brought out a bumper crop of “early birds” to Mechanicstown Square Park. The line to register children for prizes and to pick up adult prize maps stretched out onto the sidewalk

Santa had lots of big friends visit for a chat and free photo.

The day ended with the prize drawings at Hobbs Hardware.

The Thurmont EDC / Main Street Scooter raffle concluded at Christmas In Thurmont with the drawing of the winning ticket. We thank everyone that helped support the EDC & Main Street by purchasing Scooter Raffle Tickets. Thanks also to the many businesses and individuals that helped sell the tickets, sponsored the ticket printing and helped display the scooter.

In spite of the chilly temperature we had our ribbon cutting at 10:00am. We are grateful for the participation by Commissioner Glen Muth and Mayor Marty Burns as they helped us get Christmas In Thurmont 2010 under way!
