As the Catoctin High School Football Team prepared to face Joppatown on Saturday, December 5th, at M&T Stadium for the 2009 1A State Championship, local business owner Virginia LaRoche from Timeless Trends Boutique, decided that Thurmont’s Main Street needed to be creative and do something to support the team. LaRoche contacted Catoctin High School Principal Jack Newkirk and requested he send a few students to help decorate her businesses store front windows. On December 4th Megan Coblentz and Ashley Sanders, Catoctin High School students, began decorating the storefront of Timeless Trends Boutique. When they were done LaRoche suggested the girls take their supplies and ask other merchants if they could paint their storefronts. Many businesses agreed. Thurmont First would like to thank Virginia LaRoche, Megan Coblentz and Ashley Sanders for sprucing up downtown with Cougar spirit!
