Thurmont First, Inc. the Main Street organization responsible for Thurmont’s economic development initiative, celebrated with the owners of Quiznos, Mike and Debbie Bloom, their ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, at their location at 130 Frederick Rd, Ste A, Thurmont MD, 21788, Saturday July 28, 2012. Owners, Mike and Debbie have lived in this Northern Frederick County area for over 20 years. During their early days together, they spent weekends at Cunningham Falls, the Catoctin Zoo and other Thurmont destinations. Mike and Debbie fell in love with the charm, history and beauty of this community and its people and attractions. Mike comes from a food service/ restaurant background and Debbie shares that Mike is a ‘wonderful, superb, chef who loves to cook!’With this said, Mike and Debbie have been very busy promoting the business. Dine in or take out, call for delivery or catering services, they have it all! Mike and Debbie and their team are active in the Thurmont Economic Development group donating time, money and product to many programs that support the community.

Business Appreciation Month
The Frederick County Office of Economic Development is hosting the 10th annual business appreciation month throughout the month of September. Representatives of the OED, the Frederick County Board of Commissioners and the local business community visit selected businesses to thank them for doing business in Frederick County and to discuss issues of importance to local business owners. Three businesses in Thurmont were visited by representatives on Wednesday, September. 15, 2010.
