Thurmont Heritage Days King and Queen, Ray and Rosie Bentz with Pamela Hamrick in front of her East Main Street work shop durinjg the Gallery Stroll held May 23rd.. Pamela’s shop is called Heart & Hands Decorators Workroom & Design and she custom makes draperies and other items. It is a pleasure to see a shop where the products are hand made on site. This is one of the benefits of small town life.

”GALLERY STROLL”
Another fantastic night in downtown Thurmont. Those in attendance enjoyed some wine and assorted foods from several businesses, were entertained by the Glade Valley Ramblers as well as Harold Staley and just had a plain old fashioned good time. The side walks were crammed with residents enjoying the wonderful weather and companionship of fellow residents. The Gallery Stroll is becoming a must for those in the know and Vickie Grinder should be congratulated for organizing yet another popular and very well attended event on Main Street.

Furmont Days

2008-04-26_JAK_7725

A capacity crowd of dogs and cats managed to drag their human friends
to the Carnival Grounds on April 26th
for Furmont Days. There was a demonstration by Deputy Eyler showing
his police dog attacking CHief Eyler was a big hit. There were lots of games for the average dogs to participate in. Everyone had a great day and we all look forward
to the next Furmont Days. Special thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this event such a dog-gone success!

2008 Thurmont Business Expo

This year’s Expo theme was AMERICANA.
As always we had a stnding room only crowd of visitors and a wide range of local businesses on display.

The Woodsboro Bank staff greeted visitors to their booth at the Expo. You may have noticed that the Woodsboro Bank is in the process of building a new facility on Frederick Road near the Thurmont Boulevard intersection. Be sure to watch for their upcoming Grand Opening.
